Frohe Weinachten(Gestern)! Merry Christmas, Yesterday!

Weinachten gestern, war sehr komisch...Christmas yesterday was so strange. It's typical here in Germany that people often celebrate the bulk of the Holidays on Christmas Eve, where in the States we celebrate mainly on Christmas Day. Yesterday had no Christmas carols, no Christmas Trees or lights, but it actually wasn't a sad state of affairs, just different...and peaceful. A new American friend and I made our way to a bar in the city centre called Schlappen, where we had a beer and made our way home, and I made my way to bed shortly after! Although my day was rather uneventful, I hope everyone had a lovely holiday, hopefully spent with those they love.
Well today being a new day, I must tell you about a little city that I visited weeks ago called Staufen(pronounced Shht-ow-fin), this city was so beautiful, bordering the Black Forest where it was filled with abandoned castle remnants and fields of grape trees. Unfortunately, twelve years ago, the City of Staufen decided on doing some drilling in the ground which has caused the ground to expand where many buildings are now cracked and suffering because of these events. Although Staufen may not be in it's best shape for the time being, Staufen is a quant German city, with only 7,600 inhabitants, that I would recommend to anyone in the Baden-Wurtemburg region of Germany to visit for some delicious sweet-treats and German Markets. Check out some photos from the trip. Bisous and see you soon, xx.
