First Post of 18, Say no to Plastic bags!

Plastic bags are just a terrible, terrible idea in this day and age, especially when you can just bring your own regardless of the occasion that you need it for.
Plastic Fact: One plastic bag from your local grocer or shopping center can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade-think about it; a lifeless, one-time use bag lasts 10times longer than our human lives, what?! That is complete insanity.
Plastic bags are terrible for our planet and are most negatively impacting our ecosystems.

Sea turtles consistently eat plastic (bags) when mistaking them for jellyfish and they either suffocate in attempts to eat them, die because the plastic cannot effectively be digested, or reluctantly pass the plastic (up) in the food chain to another larger animal, such as a tiger shark of which will eat the sea turtle and then will be eaten by another animal; and the plastic toxicity in the food chain continues.
Your alternatives:
I have come across reusable bags when shopping at the VANS store as well as other stores, I’ve been gifted some reusable bags and have also purchased various reusable bags from @packagefreeshop. Please consider finding some big cotton bags that you may already have lying around at your house to reuse or purchase some reusable bags at your local grocer. You can even check out the adorable options from both Baggu and Ikea!
Perk: Grocers aren’t haphazardly handling your goods if you don’t want them to; “get your paws of my penguin bag, sir!” Additionally, you can strike up a brief, yet important conversation on how having an excess of plastic bags is just silly.
